Module 1 - Activity 9

In order to engage our learners in the classroom and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate in discussions and to do the important thinking when a question is posed, teachers can use a variety of questioning strategies. During this activity I was reminded that the questioning strategy is a very effective approach to find out what students are thinking, it promotes thinking and enquiry, it helps a teacher to find out whether or not a concept should be re-taught etc. Asking questions from the different levels of Blooms taxonomy will help to promote the development of high-order thinking skills among our Learners.  I have always tried to include different types of questions in my lessons to encourage students to think beyond simply recalling facts.
