The implementation of the lesson was done with grade 7. I followed the lesson plan and it was executed fairly well. The students loved the attention grabber after which I had to quiet them down for the next activity. The other activities went well but time constrains were a problem in completing the activities. Some students were not as proficient as others in the use of Microsoft Word Processing and in using the drawing tool bar although they would have used Microsoft Paint software to assist them with the use of the different functions of the mouse. The main difficulty was that some students didn't know how to re-size the images to fit in the box provided for their examples thus wasting a lot of time.
In conclusion, the students grasp the basic functions and components of a computer. This resource provided the students with opportunities to represent and express their knowledge and understanding of content and empower students to create and design rather that “absorbing representations created by others”.
